What is Newton's First Law of Motion and how does it apply to everyday life?

Answer 1

Jennifer Williams

Newton’s First Law of Motion, also known as the Law of Inertia, states that an object at rest will remain at rest, and an object in motion will continue in motion at a constant velocity, unless acted upon by an external force. In everyday life, this law explains why a book on a table stays in place until pushed, or why passengers in a moving car lurch forward when it suddenly stops. It highlights the importance of external forces in changing the state of motion of objects.
