How do the central and peripheral nervous systems interact to coordinate movement and response mechanisms in the human body?

Answer 1

John Perry

The central nervous system (CNS) and peripheral nervous system (PNS) work together to coordinate movement and responses. The CNS, comprising the brain and spinal cord, processes information and sends signals through the PNS. The PNS, consisting of sensory and motor neurons, transmits these signals to muscles and glands, facilitating movement and responses. Sensory neurons relay environmental information to the CNS, which then formulates and dispatches appropriate motor commands via motor neurons.
