What is the difference between sine, cosine, and tangent in trigonometry?

Answer 1

Jennifer Reynolds

Sine, cosine, and tangent are fundamental trigonometric functions that relate the angles of a right triangle to the lengths of its sides. Sine (sin) is the ratio of the opposite side to the hypotenuse. Cosine (cos) is the ratio of the adjacent side to the hypotenuse. Tangent (tan) is the ratio of the opposite side to the adjacent side.
