What are the processes leading to the formation of different types of galaxies in the universe?

Answer 1

Alison Williams

Galaxies form through processes such as gravitational collapse of gas clouds, mergers, and interactions. Initial density fluctuations in the early universe led to regions of higher mass that collapsed under their own gravity, forming protogalaxies. Subsequent mergers and interactions shaped these into various types, including spiral, elliptical, and irregular galaxies.
