How does Newton's Third Law of Motion apply to the movement of a rocket during launch?

Answer 1

Jared Petersen

Newton’s Third Law of Motion states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. During a rocket launch, the rocket engines expel exhaust gases downward at high speed (action), and in response, the rocket is propelled upward (reaction). This principle enables the rocket to lift off and ascend into space.
