Find the sine and cosine of $ frac{pi}{4} $

Answer 1

Abigail Nelson

Amelia Mitchell

The unit circle helps us to memorize common angle values. For $ \frac{\pi}{4} $, the coordinates are the same for both sine and cosine.

$ \sin\left( \frac{\pi}{4} \right) = \frac{\sqrt{2}}{2} $

$ \cos\left( \frac{\pi}{4} \right) = \frac{\sqrt{2}}{2} $

Using the unit circle, the sine and cosine of $ frac{pi}{4} $ are:

$ sinleft( frac{pi}{4}
ight) = frac{sqrt{2}}{2} $

$ cosleft( frac{pi}{4}
ight) = frac{sqrt{2}}{2} $

From the unit circle:

$ sinleft( frac{pi}{4}
ight) = frac{sqrt{2}}{2} $

$ cosleft( frac{pi}{4}
ight) = frac{sqrt{2}}{2} $
